Amendment to the Digital Signature Law: Modernization and Simplification of the Process

The recent Decree 743/2024 introduces changes to the Digital Signature Law in Argentina, focusing on the digitization and simplification of processes.

By modifying Section 2 of Article 21 and Article 27 of the Annex to Decree No. 182 of March 11, 2019, it is established that applicants for digital certificates issued by Licensed Certifiers can complete the issuance, renewal, or revocation of these certificates without the need for physical presence before a Registration Authority. Instead, real-time identity validation services based on data from the National Registry of Persons will be used.

For companies and professionals using digital certificates, this amendment presents an opportunity to streamline their internal processes and adapt to a more digital environment. Moreover, these changes could significantly impact sectors such as finance, legal, and technology, where digital signatures are essential for validating transactions and documents.
